URGENT COVID-19 UPDATE

Hello BIO Community and Friends,

In addition to our relentless commitment to fitness and wellness, we have always been committed to prioritizing our members’ health and safety. Recently, we have been challenged to evaluate these commitments in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. We appreciate all of the feedback, support, and suggestions offered to us by our community full of talented athletes as well as professionals across the medical field monitoring the pandemic and keeping us up-to-date on all public health guidance.
While this was not an easy decision to make, we believe the most responsible thing for us to do at this time is to shut our doors for two weeks beginning Monday, March 23rd. Please note, we are not aware of any cases of COVID-19 among our membership, and are making this decision in an overabundance of caution, focusing on our community as a whole and hoping we can protect those who are high-risk for this virus. Please continue reading for information detailing how we plan to provide continued fitness support to our BIO community during this time.

AT-HOME WORKOUTS
At-Home Workouts: We will continue to develop, program, and post at-home workouts that you can find on your Wodify app. Beginning Monday, we will program 2 at-home workouts a day (Monday-Saturday) – one that can be done with a kettlebell or dumbbell and one that is solely bodyweight-based. Both workouts will be available on Wodify. We are committed to keeping these workouts fun and varied, and encourage you to get outside when you can. Get your kids involved, too! We know all sports and activities are canceled, and we hope you’ll find these workouts will be a great way to get the whole family moving (and help your kids blow off some extra energy).
Equipment Lending Program: During the closure, Bio Community Fitness will offer members the opportunity to rent certain pieces of equipment for your home workouts. Each member may rent up to two pieces of equipment limited to kettlebells, dumbbells, and wallballs. Both Bio Community Fitness locations will be open with regular hours through Saturday, March 21st, for anyone who would like to rent the equipment. First come, first served with everything – we have a limited supply and when we’re out, we’re out.

Zoom Workout Calls: While the gyms are closed, we will be hosting ZOOM conference calls every weekday at 6am and 4:30pm, and on Saturdays at 8am, to connect about the daily workouts. The coach will review the warmup and workout, and will answer questions about modifying the workout for your space, scaling, etc. We hope these daily calls will also serve as a great way to stay connected with your fellow members and coaches as we all practice social distancing. Stay tuned for more details.

MEMBERSHIPS
Given the uncertainty of the situation, we would be massively grateful if you would consider helping us weather this storm financially by continuing your membership uninterrupted during the pandemic. We are going to do our very best to provide as much virtual value to you as we can during this time, while still continuing to cover necessary overhead for the facilities and online applications.

We completely understand that some of you are in a similar situation as we are, with your livelihood suddenly threatened. If that’s the case, please reach out to Max directly to pause your membership.

We look forward to getting back to full operations on Monday, April 6th. As always, we will continue to keep you fully updated and genuinely welcome additional suggestions for creating community and value during this time.

Thank you all for your continued support, we look forward to getting through this together!

Best,

Max
